Level 2 Course in Madrid
It was a great pleasure to welcome so many people back to take part in the second level TTouch course in Madrid. This helps build up the knowledge base and spread expertise to help more animals. The participating dogs brought a wide range of temperaments, characters, stress levels and abilities to cope which always makes for a wonderful learning experience as we learn how best to help them. Courtesy of La Gatoteca (www.lagatoteca.es) we had two great cats as well. Having cats on the course is a great experience because it teaches us, among other things, the need for patience which is also applicable when working with sensitive dogs.

TTouch in Estepona
What a lovely group of people and dogs we had at last weekend's workshop in Estepona! The people were active, enthusiastic, receptive and participative which always makes teaching so much easier. Our greatest teachers, of course, are always the dogs. They give us the opportunity to open our minds and hearts to see things in a new light. Tango, Scooby, Alfie, Kiana and Tilly were great teachers. Each one was different so we could learn more. Sometimes it is more about learning about ourselves really! Thanks to everyone.

Exotic TTouch
Last week I have the chance to assist for Sarah Fisher at a Tellington TTouch training in England. The trainings there always include one day working with exotic animals. In the photos you will see Mary, a young python, and George, an even younger Golden python. See how many people it takes to give them a TTouch session!
Gorgeous George on the left and Mary on the right. |
Indy, a very discerning macaw. |
NIgel, the cockatoo, is 38 years old and he certainly made his presence felt - or rather heard! |

Tellington TTouch in Madrid
The techniques of Tellington TTouch followed on from the previous day's zoopharmacognosy and, as is usually the case, both techniques are mutually enhancing, setting up a positive feedback loop which allows animals to find their own calm space. Once they know that it exists, it is always easier to find it again and take refuge there under stressful situations.
